  • Jump on the Omega-3 boat. Studies have linked consuming Omega-3 fatty acids with a lower risk of cardiovascular disease. You can get Omega-3 naturally from salmon, tuna, flaxseed, canola and SENSATIONAL SOY Beverages.
  • Keep it natural. Avoid processed foods that contain preservatives and eat food closest to its natural state - enjoy fresh raw fruits and vegetables instead of buying them canned.
  • Fill your plate with colour! Choose fresh fruits and vegetables with a variety of colour, with emphasis on yellow, orange, red and deep green. This trick will help ensure you get the wide range of nutrients fibre and antioxidants your body needs.
  • Choose whole grains whenever possible. There are plenty of delicious varieties of whole grain cereals, pastas, rice, tortillas, pitas and other breads available.
  • Does it need more flavour? Skip the salt and season your food with fresh herbs and spices. Grow your own year round in a window planter, or find fresh flavourful herbs like dill, cilantro, basil and rosemary in the produce section.
  • Make lunch leaner. Replace mayonnaise on sandwiches and wraps with zesty lower fat options like salsa or fruit chutney or whole grain mustard.
